Miyajima is one of Japan's three most scenic spots. Here we are with the large
Torri in the background during high tide this shrine called the
Itsukushima Shrine looks as if it is floating on water. The pagoda (the light behind us) dates back to the 12
th century! The shrine is repainted the vivid orange every 10 ten years... the color orange was selected by the builders of the shrine as a symbol of the sun.
